"Self Defense is 90% Mental and 10% Physical"
The Bentonville Police Department is proud and honored to sponsor this free course designed to educate and empower the female citizens of our community. We present this empowering educational opportunity for our female citizens to learn the necessary self-defense fundamentals to defend one’s self from a potential predator in the event of an attack.
Offering up to eight classes per year, this 12-hour classroom and hands-on course teaches the self-defense techniques throughout a period of three 4-hour evenings for the convenience of our participant’s busy schedules. The Bentonville Police Department will post class dates and times as they are scheduled.
Due to certain restrictions, participants must be at least 14 years old to enroll in this class. In addition, we encourage participants to take part in the hands-on physical training exercises to practice the self-defense techniques. Therefore, participants should consider the physical activities involved and their own level of physical fitness and ability before enrolling.
Because we conduct this training in the Bentonville Police Department’s Community Room, we ask participants to come dressed in appropriate gym/workout attire or comfortable clothes suitable for physical activity.
Download and fill out the Women's Self Defense Training Application (PDF) to attend this course.
If after completing the application, you have additional questions concerning the empowering course, please contact Corporal Stephanie Wootten via email.
