Coaches Corner

Coaches Meeting

Bentonville Parks and Recreation offers the Coaches corner for softball coaches looking for specific information or resources. Please read below for other information provided for our volunteers coaches.

Coaching

All coaches participating in the softball program must complete a background check and coaching application (PDF) prior to coaching.

SportsEngine TransparentAlso, download the SportEngine Application from the iOS or Android store. It will be a GREAT help to you as a coach or manager. no need to create a team or set anything up. ALL setup will be done for coaches, parents, and spectators through the registration process.

Turf Field Surface

We want everyone to be reminded that our infields at Memorial Park are synthetic turf surface. This means a lot of great things for softball, as well as some rules changes, the more important of which is that no metal cleats (whatsoever) are allowed on these fields.

We will permit rubber molded cleats to be used, but we recommend turf shoes or tennis shoes on the synthetic turf surface.

Registration Information

In the spring season, our program is individual (player) registration only. Please take a look at our Registration Form for more information. All games will be played at Memorial Park and Merchants Park depending on age group. Coaches, Please remind your players to check the box while registering indicating they want to return to their previous spring 2019 team, if they wish to do so.

For more information please reach out to your age commissioner or Bentonville Parks and Recreation at 479-464-PARK (7275).

Ages

Girls must play in the division for which their age qualifies them to. Ages, according to USSSA, are calculated on December 31 for each season. Therefore, all girls must play in the division to which their age qualified them for on December 31. See the Player Age Eligibility (PDF) for the upcoming fall season.
