In an effort to keep our citizens and participants safe, Bentonville Parks and Recreation will be taking the following measures regarding COVID-19. These decisions are the result of careful consideration of public gatherings and precautionary measures shared by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Arkansas State Governor Asa Hutchinson, the World Health Organization (WHO), and our first and foremost focus of participant safety and exposure to the virus at large public gatherings occurring at our programs, events, and facilities. • Public Parks will remain open. However, all public restrooms, playgrounds, tennis courts, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and the skate park are closed.• All public events taking place on public park property will be canceled from now until at least April 30th including but not limited to: First Friday, Farmers Markets, Easter at Orchards Park, and Art Stroll. • The Run Bentonville Half Marathon will be modified to a virtual race. • All facilities are currently closed including the Bentonville Community Center and the Downtown Activity Center. All memberships will be suspended until the facilities are reopened.• All youth sports programming is suspended. • All other classes, programs, and activities are suspended. We will monitor the situation closely and continue to communicate with further information as it becomes available. If you have any questions, please reach out to Bentonville Parks and Recreation at firstname.lastname@example.org.
