Bentonville, AR…Bentonville Parks & Recreation will host a Bella Vista Lake Task Force meeting on Wednesday, May 30th at 2 pm, to discuss the future of Bella Vista Lake Park. This meeting will occur at the Bentonville Community Center, located at 1101 SW Citizens Circle.
In October 2017, Bentonville City Council voted to move forward with a master plan project for the 132 acre Bella Vista Lake Park. This project, funded with a grant from the Walton Family Foundation, evaluates the park property and researches multiple design possibilities for a possible park renovation project. Public meetings were hosted on January 18 to collect citizen input regarding design and programming for a possible renovated park facility.
City Staff will use this meeting to introduce three conceptual designs to committee members. Of the three plans, one includes a design with a reconstructed dam, another includes a free flowing stream and the final includes a flowing stream with a side channel lake. The committee will identify benefits and challenges of each design in order to present the best possible option(s) to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and the Bentonville City Council.
