Bentonville, AR… The Bentonville Planning Commission will duly meet to discuss the proposed Bentonville Community Plan and Future Land Use Map on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at 305 SW A Street.
The proposed Bentonville Community Plan is the City of Bentonville’s most basic statement of public policy that serves as a guide describing how the city can achieve its desired future while providing direction to city leaders as they make decisions.
The Future Land Use Map is the foundation for future community development showing the desired location for each land use as the city continues to grow and develop; serving as a guide for land use and development decisions.
Both proposed plans are available for review at http://www.bentonvillear.com/259/Bentonville-Community-Plan. The site has a new feature by clicking on “Interactive Future Land Use Map” that allows users to view the proposed Future Land Use Map and compare it with the existing Future Land Use Map, which was adopted in 2007. The site provides a slider in the middle of the map with the left pane containing the current plan and the right pane showing the proposed plan. The site features search and zoom functions as well as links to more information on each classification.
A three-year long process guided by a steering committee, public workshops, public hearings, and community surveys which provided direction for plan development.
