2019 Citizens Police Academy Begins March 28th

Bentonville, AR- The Bentonville Police Department announces the 2019 Citizens Police Academy which will begin on March 28th, 2019 at 6 pm, in the Bentonville Police Department Training Room. The academy was established in 1999 and has successfully graduated over 400 citizens with an eight-week program designed to give a working knowledge of the Bentonville Police Department. Each session consists of 8 consecutive Thursday evening classes and a graduation on May 16th. The training will be comprehensive and will include lectures, demonstrations and facility tours. Citizens will have the opportunity to explore separate areas such as K-9 Teams, Bomb Squad, Criminal Investigations and Forensics. Graduates of the Citizens Police Academy will gain an intimate knowledge of the daily operations of the police department and cultivate a better understanding of the unique challenges in law enforcement.

Applicants must be 21 years of age and live or work in the Bentonville area. Applications and more detailed information can be obtained at the City of Bentonville website at www.bentonvillear.com.
