Bentonville Parks and Recreation Reopening Schedule

Reopening Action Plan (1)

Since March, many of Bentonville Parks and Recreation Facilities have been closed or limited because of the Covid-19 Pandemic. As the Arkansas Department of Health begins to announcements the lifting of restrictions on public facilities, we are excited to begin slowly and cautiously reopening select recreation amenities in our parks system.

May 15           Sports Fields (Memorial Park, Philips Park and Citizens Park) reopen for public use. Sports team practices are permitted on a first come – first serve basis.

May 18           Bentonville Community Center reopens. Fitness Center and Lap Pool are available for daily use by members.

May 20           Restrooms at Dave Peel Park and Lawrence Plaza reopen for public use.

May 22           Tennis Complexes (Citizens Park and Memorial Park) will reopen at 50% capacity. This includes restrooms at each facility.

May 23           Bentonville Community Center Leisure Pool reopens.

May 26           Private Lessons Resume. Both private tennis and private swim lessons resume.

May 27           Memorial Park Skate Park Reopens.

May 28           Bark Park reopens. This includes restrooms facilities.

June 1            Melvin Ford Aquatic Center Opens for Lap Swim.

                        Youth Softball League Resumes activity.

June 8            Youth Triathlon Team begins.

June 10          Tennis Courts open 100% at Citizens Park, Memorial Park, and Wildwood Park.

June 12          Melvin Ford Aquatic Center Opens for Open Swim.

                        June Jam Baseball / Softball Tournament will take place at Memorial Park and Phillips Park.

                        Summer Sizzler Tennis Tournament will take place at Memorial Park.

June 15           Bentonville Community Center Expands Opening. Kid Center Opens. Day Passes accepted for non-members.

July 4               An Evening at Orchards Park event will be held at Orchards Park. Live music at 7pm. Fireworks Display at 9:30pm. 

July 6               Camp Bentonville Program resumes summer camps. Modified July Schedule.

                         Group tennis drills begin. Summer Session Two resumes following the 4th of July holiday weekend. 

July 14             USSSA Midwest National Championship fastpitch softball tournament hosted at Memorial Park.

Our team continues to work with local health officials and follows the directives from Governor Hutchinson and the Arkansas Department of Health. We await directives on recreation swimming pools / splash parks, Summer Camps and Team sports. As soon as announcements are made on these activities, we can announce openings for additional facilities.

Please refer to our COVID-19 Safety Measures Page for information regarding safety measures and protocols we are implementing upon our reopening. We will monitor the situation closely and continue to communicate with further information as it becomes available.
