[ARCHIVED] Bentonville Community Launches Public Awareness Campaign

Be Safe be Smart

BENTONVILLE, AR (June 18, 2020) - Visit Bentonville has teamed up with the City of Bentonville, Arkansas, and other community partners to launch a public awareness campaign to educate residents and visitors about COVID-19 safety measures. The campaign, entitled Our Bentonville - Be Safe & Be Smart focuses on two key components:

Be SAFE. Social distance, wash your hands and wear a mask in public.

Be SMART. Stay home if you’re experiencing symptoms - get tested.

The Greater Bentonville Chamber, Bentonville Parks & Recreation, the Bentonville School District, and Downtown Bentonville Inc. are working together to help spread the critical health message. Each partner will leverage their resources to remind everyone to do their part to protect themselves and the Bentonville community by taking these simple steps.

“It’s great to see business get back into some sense of normal business. That said, the virus has not gone away. In fact, we have seen a surge in cases in Northwest Arkansas over the past week. I continue to urge residents to follow directives from Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and the Arkansas Department of Health. If not for yourself, do it out of respect for the owners & their employees. We ask all residents and businesses to be diligent and continue to make wise decisions to help stop the spread of Covid-19,” said Bentonville Mayor Stephanie Orman.”

"Our Bentonville restaurants, attractions, and local businesses continue to promote health and safety measures to ensure that everyone can enjoy the fantastic art, culture, and food Bentonville has to offer," said Visit Bentonville, President, and CEO, Kalene Griffith. "We hope our community and visitors will join us to do their part as we work together to open our economy safely."Digital and downloadable assets, as well as a pledge card, posters, and infographics will be available for Bentonville businesses to utilize, sharing the important health message about "masking up" and COVID-19 safety measures.
