Program Description
Bentonville Parks and Recreation offers a recreational youth soccer program at Memorial Park for girls and boys ages three to
eighteen. Youth soccer focuses on sportsmanship, participation, skill development and having fun. Participants are randomly
assigned to teams based on age.
Changes have been made to bring our league more in line with the standards of the Arkansas State Soccer
Association and the United States Soccer Association.
U7 and U8: This league moves to a 4v4 without a goalie format.
Research has shown that goal keeping for kids in this age group is not
developmentally appropriate. Fields will be approximately 10 yards shorter. U7
and U8 will also no longer have referees. Coaches will be on the field to manage the
flow of the games.
U14 (Now Junior High): Junior High students from any school (not just
Bentonville) are welcome in the league. Junior High consists of 7th and 8th
graders. Teams will be formed based on which school the player attends. Players
who do not attend a Bentonville Jr. High School will be placed on teams among
the three schools. The Jr. High League will play 7v7 on a short sided field. Teams will no longer play 11v11. This change is being made to allow for more touches and playing time for
more players.
High School: We have partnered with the Bentonville High School Intramural Program to offer 4v4 and 11v11 soccer. Players do not
have to attend BHS to play in the league. Participants will register through Bentonville Parks and Recreation. 4v4 games will be played
during the week and 11v11 will be played on the weekends. A player can sign up for one or both options for the same price. This will be
a Fall only league. There will be no changes to the Little Kicksters, U5, U6, U10, or U12 leagues.
There are no changes to the Little Kicksters, U5, U6, U10, or U12 programs.

Please note that each date is tentative and is subject to change based on participation numbers and number of fields.
Hopefully, this will allow you to schedule activities accordingly.
Parks
and Recreation will work with other organizations such as softball and baseball
to ensure conflicts are kept at an absolute minimum, allowing youth participants
the opportunity to participate in multiple sports.

Little Kicksters Soccer is an introductory program for children born between August 2009 and July 2010. Fall Little Kicksters
is limited to the first 100 registered participants and consists of fun activities and games designed to introduce players to the fundamentals of
soccer.
All practices and games will take place on the soccer
fields at Memorial Park along John DeShields Blvd.

NOTE: If your child has never registered with Bentonville
Parks & Recreation, please include proper birth documentation (birth
certificate, shot record, passport) with registration form and
payment. If registering online you may either drop the document of at
the address above or fax to 479-271-5970 and include a note that you have registered
your child online.
Registration fees must be received at time of registration. Once team
assignments are made and uniforms are ordered, registration fees are
NON-REFUNDABLE. Uniforms include jersey, shorts, & socks. Players will
be responsible for providing their own shoes & protective gear.
NOTE: For up to date
cancellations/field closings during inclement weather, please be sure to visit
the Parks & Recreation Home Page, where you can
view the status of each field.To become instantly notified, via email or
text, when a field has been closed for game play, you may
sign up to
receive status updates.
Leagues and Registration Fees:
- If you register in the Fall, for both Fall & Spring seasons, you
do not have to re-register for the Spring season and player will remain
on the same team for Spring.
- If you did not register in the fall to play both seasons but wish to
play in the spring, you will need to register for the spring season. Fall
players registering for Spring will
be eligible to remain on the same team.
- If
you are a new player and/or did not register to play in the Fall, but would like to
sign up for Spring, you can register for the Spring season only. Duel season
registrations only take place during Fall sign ups.

Coaches Corner
We are looking for enthusiastic, positive, fun coaches for every age in our
league. Please consider coaching your child’s team, you will make a huge
impact. All coaches are provided free coaches clinics and training materials. All
coaches must pass a background check prior to coaching.

Sponsorship
We need team sponsors to help support scholarships for our programs. As a
sponsor, your company’s name will appear on the uniforms and you will
receive a sponsors plaque at the end of the season. Simply include a
sponsorship check for $300 along with the
registration form.

We are looking for new and experienced referees to officiate games. If you are
