- POGS Control Program
The purpose of this program is to minimize the loading of petroleum oil, grease, and sand (POGS) entering City of Bentonville’s wastewater collection system and the Wastewater Treatment Plant. POGS can contribute to pass-through of pollutants into waterways, municipal sewage sludge, and a volatile atmosphere within the collection system. Additionally, sand and minerals can cause sewer blockages in low flow lines resulting in a sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) and/or may cause damage to pumping equipment.
