Status of City Services

Phase 1 Reopening - May 18, 2020
The City of Bentonville will began to reopen public lobbies and drive-through service on May 18, 2020. Citizens are encouraged to continue to conduct as much business online as possible.

The following lobbies will reopen for business beginning May 18, 2020:

• Utility Billing – 117 West Central, first floor of City Hall, Bentonville, AR

• Utility Drive-through, 402 South Main Street, Bentonville, AR

• Municipal Complex 3200 SW Municipal Drive, Bentonville, AR

• Planning and Development - 305 SW A Street, Bentonville, AR

• Police Department Lobby - 908 SE 14th St, Bentonville, AR

• Bentonville Public Library – Self-Service and Pickup Returns - 405 S. Main Street, Bentonville, AR. Open specific hours with certain protocols. Visit for more information

• Bentonville District Court will resume regular court schedule - 2706 S Walton Blvd., Bentonville, AR

City Employees will practice social distancing and when they cannot do so – will wear a cloth covering over their nose and mouth when interacting with the public or other employees. Employees temperatures will be monitored prior to beginning work and CDC and ADH guidelines will be followed.

The public is asked to wear a mask and limit time to conducting business only when inside City buildings. Members of the public may be required to wear a mask if in secured areas of City buildings.

The number of citizens will be limited to 10 or less in lobbies and citizens will be asked to wait outside to maintain those numbers.

Bentonville Parks and Recreation will have additional announcements concerning the opening of park facilities.

Bentonville Compost Facility 

The City of Bentonville Compost Facility will reopen on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 for green waste drop off and recycling trailers only. No compost sales until further notice. The facility will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM until further notice. Residents must wear a mask to gain entry to the facility and to be able to drop off green waste or access the recycling trailers. Residents are asked to keep their window rolled up as much as possible while checking in with the attendant. Please hold your photo identification and recent utility bill against the window so the attendant can read and confirm residency. Please follow cones and signs as vehicle patterns may be different than before. No compost sales will be conducted at this time.

Republic Services will begin a paid yard waste pickup program April 1, 2020 thru Nov 30, 2020 (8 months) and subscribers are serviced one time per week. Subscribers will have a 95 gallon yard waste cart and all yard waste must be cart contents only. They can order up to 3 carts total for an extra fee. Bentonville residents who would like to subscribe should call Republic at 1-800-431-1507 for setup and payment.

Bentonville Public Library

The Bentonville Public Library (BPL) is open for specific hours with certain protocols, 405 S. Main Street, Bentonville, AR.

Bentonville Parks and Recreation

Since March, many of Bentonville Parks and Recreation Facilities have been closed or limited due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. As the Arkansas Department of Health begins to make announcements lifting restrictions on public facilities, we are excited to begin slowly and cautiously reopening select recreation amenities in our parks system.

May 15 -  Sports Fields (Memorial Park, Philips Park and Citizens Park) reopen for public use. Sports team practices are permitted on a first come – first serve basis.

May 18 -  Bentonville Community Center reopens on limited basis see website for information. Fitness Center and Lap Pool are available for daily use by members.

May 22 - Tennis Complexes (Citizens Park and Memorial Park) will reopen at 50% capacity. This includes restrooms at each facility.

May 26 - Restrooms at Dave Peel Park and Lawrence Plaza reopen for public use.

May 28 - Bark Park reopens. This includes restrooms facilities.

Our team continues to work with local health officials and follows the directives from Governor Hutchinson and the Arkansas Department of Health. We await directives on recreation swimming pools / splash parks, Summer Camps and Team sports. As soon as announcements are made on these activities, we will announce openings for additional facilities.
