Proclamations are ceremonial documents signed by the Mayor and issued for: public awareness, important community-wide events, arts, and cultural celebrations, or special honors at the Mayor's recommendation. Requests must be made by a resident or business in the City of Bentonville.
Proclamation Guidelines
The City of Bentonville may issue a proclamation or certificate at its discretion and will have final approval of the contents. Proclamations will NOT be issued for: deceased persons, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, retirements or family reunions, fundraising campaigns, business anniversaries of less than 50 years, matters of political controversy, ideological or religious beliefs, individual conviction, events or organizations with no direct relationship to the City of Bentonville nor campaigns or events contrary to City policies.
