Bentonville, AR…Bentonville Parks and Recreation is proud to announce the opening of the Rink at Lawrence Plaza on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 12:00 pm.
On opening day, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, skate sessions at The Rink will be free to the public. At 6:00 pm, we encourage the public to attend the Lighting of the Downtown Square celebration taking place on the Downtown Bentonville Square.
After the Lighting of the Square, Bentonville Parks and Recreation will host the Lighting of the Community Christmas Tree at Lawrence Plaza and exhibition skate show by the Arkansas Figure Skating Association. At 8:00 pm, The Rink will re-open to the public for the last skate session of the day. This will be a paid session. Cost for skating is $5 per session or $3 per session if you have your own skates.
Throughout The Rink season, Bentonville Parks and Recreation has partnered with the Arkansas Figure Skating Association to offer Frosty Flix, Skate-A-Longs, and Ice Skating Lessons. For more information on these programs, please visit our website at: www.playbentonville.com
We are also pleased to once again provide the public with a direct line to Santa Claus. Children are able to write a letter to Santa for our elves to deliver directly to Santa Claus at the North Pole. Any child who turns in their letter, with a return address, will receive a special letter back from Santa prior to Christmas. These letters should be turned in to the “Letters to Santa House” located at Lawrence Plaza no later than December 12, 2018.
