Bentonville, AR…Bentonville Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce that Park Springs Park Arboretum has been awarded a Level 1 Accreditation by The ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program and The Morton Register of Arboreta. As a result, the newly designated arboretum in Bentonville will be added to the Morton Register which is a list of organizations that collect and display an assortment of trees, shrubs, and plants in an effort to benefit the public, science, and conservation.
The Bentonville Parks Conservancy recently adopted the local arboretum and assisted in the certification process with ArbNet. The group has planned an educational tour/work day at Burns Arboretum on Saturday, April 3, from 9:00am – 11:00am. Volunteers are invited to join board members who will highlight invasive plant species while teaching best practices for eradication. In addition, volunteers will have an opportunity to walk through the existing arboretum – a hidden gem in the community. For planning purposes, the Park Springs Park Arboretum address is 300 NW 10th Street.
As a recognized 501c non-profit group of volunteers, the Bentonville Parks Conversancy was created to foster a partnership with the City of Bentonville and its citizens to preserve and enhance our parks, green space, and the quality of life in our community.
