Bentonville Accepting Applications for New Construction Board of Appeals

Bentonville, AR… The City of Bentonville is seeking qualified residents to serve on the newly established Construction Board of Appeals, which will provide a formal venue for reviewing appeals related to the enforcement, application, and interpretation of the Arkansas Fire Prevention Code Volumes I, II, and III. Applications will be accepted through May 6, 2025.
The Construction Board of Appeals will hear and decide appeals related to the administration of the city’s adopted construction codes. This may include disputes regarding how specific code provisions are applied or interpreted in individual cases. The board will not consider proposals to revise or amend the codes themselves.
As Bentonville continues to experience significant growth and development, the board will support the city’s efforts to maintain high standards in construction and life safety while ensuring that unique or complex projects have access to a structured review process.
Applicants should have professional experience or technical knowledge in construction, architecture, engineering, building inspection, or a related field. Members must reside within the corporate limits of Bentonville, be a registered voter, and be available to attend meetings as required. Individuals serving on the board must be able to act impartially and disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to matters under review.
