Virtual Coffee with the Mayor to Feature Finance Department and E-Bike Rebate Program
BENTONVILLE, AR — Mayor Stephanie Orman invites residents to join the next Virtual Coffee with the Mayor on Tuesday, October 21, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. This month’s session highlights the work of the City’s Finance Department and explores the success of Bentonville’s E-Bike Rebate Program, which is helping residents connect with their community, improve health, and ease traffic congestion across the city.
The E-Bike Rebate Program is funded through a private grant and makes electric bicycles more accessible to Bentonville residents by offering income-based rebates of up to $1,600 for qualifying applicants. The program encourages more people to choose biking for short trips around town, easing congestion, promoting active lifestyles, and helping residents stay connected to local businesses and community spaces.
Since its launch, the initiative has drawn national attention for record-level participation per capita, reflecting Bentonville’s growing enthusiasm for biking as both recreation and everyday mobility.
Mayor Orman will be joined by Finance Director Patrick Johndrow and Assistant Finance Director Heather Delhagen to discuss how the Finance Department keeps city operations running smoothly behind the scenes. The conversation will cover how Bentonville is funded, how sales tax contributes to city services, and what it means to maintain a balanced budget as the community continues to grow. The team will also address common questions about what it takes to fund city projects and plan responsibly for the future.
The discussion will also include representatives from Parks & Recreation, a local bike shop, and a program participant who will share their experience with the privately funded e-bike rebate program.
Virtual Coffee with the Mayor is a monthly event designed to give residents a direct line to city leadership. Each session includes updates from city departments, guest speakers, and time for audience questions.
Residents can also mark their calendars for the next in-person Coffee with the Mayor, scheduled for Tuesday, November 18, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. at the Museum of Native American History in Bentonville.
