Discover How Your City Works — From the Inside Out
The Mayor’s Community Council offers Bentonville residents a behind-the-scenes look at how their city operates, and the people who make it work every day.
Created in 2020 by Mayor Stephanie Orman, this 12-month program builds understanding, transparency, and connection between residents and city leadership. Participants explore how each city department, including public safety, infrastructure, parks, planning, and the library, works together to make Bentonville a thriving and well-served community.
What to Expect
Throughout the year, members:
Tour different city departments
Engage directly with department heads and city leaders
Learn how policies, planning, and daily operations support Bentonville’s long-term vision
Gain a clearer understanding of how collaboration drives progress across the city
Multi-location format:
This program takes place in several locations across Bentonville and even includes bus tours. Participants should plan for travel between sites and make any necessary transportation arrangements in advance.
The experience offers honest, practical insight into how a modern city functions, rooted in teamwork, high standards, and people-first service.
