Bentonville, AR...Bentonville Public Library is excited to announce that it will hold a Topping Out celebration on Friday, November 17th, at 4 p.m. The event will mark an important milestone in constructing the new library expansion as the final beam is placed atop the structure.
The Topping Out celebration is a longstanding tradition in the construction industry and is typically held when the final beam is installed at the highest point of a building. It is a symbolic gesture that signifies the completion of the building's framework.
The celebration will feature remarks from local officials and library representatives. Attendees will also have the opportunity to sign the final beam before it is hoisted into place.
According to Hadi Dudley, Library Director, “We are thrilled to be reaching this important milestone in constructing the new library. This new expansion will be a cornerstone of our community, and BPL is excited to celebrate with our patrons and supporters.”
The Topping Out celebration is open to the public, and all community members are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
To access the site, park at the Library or in a nearby lot then walk around the back of the building and enter the old SE 4th Street alley from SE A Street.
The Topping Out event will take place, rain or shine. In the instance of heavy rain or thunderstorms, the celebration will be moved inside the library.
