[ARCHIVED] Important Update for Bentonville Residents Debris Collection

Bentonville Web

Bentonville, AR...The City of Bentonville is continuing recovery following the severe storms and tornado on May 26, 2024. The city Contractor will begin debris removal on Friday, June 14th. Their trucks will have a Looks Great Services company logo. They will begin removal in the hardest-hit areas of Bentonville but will have trucks working throughout the city for the next several weeks.  City crews will continue working in neighborhoods while the contractor fully mobilizes. The compost facility at 2000 NW A Street is also open 7am to 7pm for residents to dispose of vegetative debris.

 For neighborhood pickup:

  • Residents who can safely do so are asked to place any storm-generated debris on the public right-of-way if they want to receive pickup.
  • Please sort and place debris as follows: (The first phase will focus on vegetative removal)
  • VEGETATIVE DEBRIS (whole trees, tree stumps, tree branches, tree trunks, and other leafy material)
  • CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION DEBRIS (damaged components of buildings and structures such as lumber, wallboard, glass, metal, roofing materials, tile, furnishings, and fixtures)
  • APPLIANCES / WHITE GOODS (refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, heat pumps, ovens, ranges, washing machines, clothes dryers, and water heaters)
  • ELECTRONIC WASTE (computers, televisions, office electronic equipment, etc.)
  • HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE (materials that are ignitable, reactive, toxic, or corrosive such as paints, cleaners, pesticides, etc.)

Only loose debris will be collected—bagged debris should not be placed on the public right-of-way.

Important Guidelines:

  • Do not park cars on streets to allow collection trucks room to work.
  • Avoid stacking debris under low-hanging power or utility lines.
  • Do not place debris near street intersections to ensure safe sight distances.
  • Keep debris at least four feet away from:
    1. MAILBOXES
    2. WATER METERS
    3. FIRE HYDRANTS
    4. ABOVE GROUND UTILITIES
    5. DRAINAGE DITCHES, SWALES, PIPES, AND INLETS
    6. STREET SIGNS

Only debris placed on the public right-of-way will be eligible for collection until further notice. If all debris is not picked up during the initial pass, please continue to push remaining debris to the right-of-way for subsequent passes.
