Bentonville, AR – September 23, 2024. After more than three years of planning, preparation, and construction, Bentonville Public Library invites the public for a Ribbon Cutting and Welcome Celebration on Wednesday, October 30 from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
Festivities will begin on the new Main Street Veranda. BPL will then welcome attendees for refreshments sponsored by Flintco and other goodies in the new Walmart Foundation Community Room.
The expansion features over 20,000 square feet of purposeful space including:
- Walmart Foundation Community Room featuring open space, large windows, full audio-visual, a kitchenette, and ~225 capacity
- Youth Library with expanded preschool, school-age, and teen collections and new spaces customized for reading, learning, and gathering
- Art Gallery featuring artwork on loan from OZ Art NWA
- Sensory & Wellness Room for patrons needing to take a few minutes to themselves
- Digital Lab with software and equipment for digital creation ventures
- Makerspace equipped with 3D printer, Glo Forge, sewing machines and more!
- Outdoor spaces with our gorgeous new Main Street Veranda, Learning Gardens, Reading Courtyard, Gathering Lawn, Bike Hub, spacious connecting sidewalks, and other lawn areas
Renovations on the former Children’s Library will continue throughout the end of the year featuring a Community Hub and Business Center, new meeting and study spaces, and the Mary Baggett Book Club Lounge. Expect to see the end of construction in early 2025!
