Closure Announcement – Dave Peel Park Restroom and Playground
Bentonville, AR……. In anticipation of construction at Dave Peel Park, Bentonville Parks and Recreation is announcing closure dates. As of today, September 9, the park restrooms are closed. This will be followed by permanent closure of the entire park on Monday, September 22. Work is scheduled to begin in this section of the Quilt of Parks before the end of the year.
Dave Peel Park is currently a two-acre mini park, located one block east of the downtown Square on Central Avenue. Known as the community’s playground, it was established as a public park in 1973. Inspired by the Buffalo River, the redesigned park will house native gardens, a stage, public art, and an event lawn. The new layout builds upon the play value of the current space by adding a modern and secure playground destination, restrooms, and enhanced plaza area. It will connect directly with A Street Promenade, a pedestrian-only walkway that ties areas together with outdoor dining, retail, event and entertainment space.
