Bentonville…The City of Bentonville is hosting the Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s (AEDC) Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise workshop geared toward minority and women business owners. This workshop will provide an overview of the Arkansas Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise, certification and training opportunities, and loan opportunities.
Presenters include:
- Pat Brown, Director, Arkansas Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise
- Karen Castle, Arkansas Minority and Women Business Certification
- Lee Costley, Arkansas Procurement Office
- A representative on Federal Procurement to be announced
The workshop will be held Thursday, March 12, 2020, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at the Bentonville Public Library, Walmart Room, 405 South Main Street, Bentonville, Arkansas.

The Certification Assistance segment of this workshop provides attendees with information and practical assistance for the state certification application process. In addition, business owners will learn how to connect with state contracting opportunities and other benefits of becoming certified.
The Minority Business Loan Mobilization Guaranty Program will also be featured at this workshop. This program helps Arkansas state-certified minority businesses with loan guarantees from $10,000 up to $100,000. Workshop attendees will learn how to obtain funding through the Minority Business Loan Mobilization Guaranty Program when starting a state-funded or other approved project and how it can help your Arkansas State Certified Business grow.
