Bentonville...The City of Bentonville Compost Facility is closed until further notice to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. This closure includes drop off and all sales.
The Compost Facility is closed to eliminate the person to person interaction that is necessary to properly operate. Based on the Solid Waste Permit issued from ADEQ, employees are required to inspect every load for trash, volume and type. Due to the inspection of each load, it’s not possible to open the facility and operate in a manner that would eliminate that interaction with the public. In addition, employees are required to confirm the address and ensure the facility is only for Bentonville residents which involves person to person contact.
We understand this is a difficult time and many have expressed the need for utilization of the compost facility. We will reopen as soon as there is no threat to public health. We can recommend the service currently offered by Republic Services.
Republic Services will begin a paid yard waste pickup program April 1, 2020 thru Nov 30, 2020 (8 months) and subscribers are serviced one time per week. Subscribers will have a 95 gallon yard waste cart and all yard waste must be cart contents only. They can order up to 3 carts total for an extra fee. Bentonville residents who would like to subscribe should call Republic at 1-800-431-1507 for setup and payment.
