Bentonville, AR……. The 2022 Run Bentonville Half Marathon is scheduled for this Saturday, April 2, at 7:00am, on the Bentonville Square. Over 2,300 participants will compete in the Half Marathon, Half Marathon Relay, and 5k race, presented by Walmart.
The weekend begins with a Health & Wellness Expo and packet pick up on Friday, April 1. Orgain is presenting sponsor of this event at The Record – 104 SW A Street. The Expo is open to runners and guests from 10:00am – 7:00pm. Just one street away, Downtown Bentonville, Inc. will host their signature First Friday block party from 11:00am – 9:00pm.
On Saturday, April 2, road closures will begin by 6:00am. This includes intersections on 2nd Street, NE A Street, Central and J Street, and one northbound lane on Walton Boulevard. Anyone traveling on these roads can expect a brief delay. Other closures along the course will follow a rolling schedule as runners clear the streets impacted. The half marathon and relay, presented by Nestle and McLarty Daniel, start on Central Avenue next to the Benton County Courthouse. The 5k starts at Main Street and 3rd Street. All events finish in front of the historic Walton Five and Dime.
The Downtown Square serves as the official backdrop for the race celebration hosted by CEI, complete with festivities and fun for participants and spectators. Boom Kinetic is providing music and entertainment. The Run Bentonville Race Series continues throughout the calendar year with the Glow Run, Worst Race Ever, Goblin Run, and Freedom Frosty 5k.
