Bentonville, AR...To ensure the safety of all racers and bystanders, the Bentonville Public Library and Ozark Outdoor Foundation have moved the Walmart OZ Kids™ Fat Tire Criterium and Fall Fest to a new location.
The races and free fall festival will now be held at 401 SW 8th Street Bentonville, AR 72712. All participants should arrive at the large lot directly west of Fire Station #1 on SW A Street and 8th Street. This location provides ample parking and a safer environment for all participants and volunteers. It is only a few blocks from the Library.
Everything that was previously included in the event is still planned! The races are still taking place, but on a safer course. The free festival will begin at 2PM and end at 6PM. The criterium will run from 3 – 5:45PM. A criterium is a bike race in which the riders follow laps on a closed course.
Advanced online registration is required to enter the races or to attend the festival. Participants need to register early to be guaranteed race entry as space is limited. Once registered, race packets can be picked up at BPL on October 20 from 11AM – 7PM, October 21 from 11AM – 5PM or October 22 from 9 – 11AM. Online registration will close at 2PM on October 22 with final packet pickup available at the festival.
Prior to the races, on Thursday, October 20 at 5PM, Bike School Bentonville will host a race practice clinic at 401 SW 8th Street to familiarize kids of all ages with the process of a criterium. During the clinic, riders will get the opportunity to become familiar with the start, finish, course and staging processes. Registration is not required.
