Mayor's Community Council
Discover How Your City Works — From the Inside Out
The Mayor’s Community Council offers Bentonville residents a behind-the-scenes look at how their city operates, and the people who make it work every day.
Created in 2020 by Mayor Stephanie Orman, this 12-month program builds understanding, transparency, and connection between residents and city leadership. Participants explore how each city department, including public safety, infrastructure, parks, planning, and the library, works together to make Bentonville a thriving and well-served community.
The application period for the 2026 cohort is closed. Please check back in November of 2026.

Hear from Past Participants
“Even with my background, I was constantly surprised. The level of access and transparency was remarkable. This wasn’t just a feel-good PR program—it was real, substantive education about how our city functions that offered real access.
The monthly commitment is totally worth it. I came away not just better informed, but with a genuine appreciation for the thought and effort that goes into running Bentonville. If you want to truly understand your city and how you can be a more engaged resident, this program is invaluable.”
— Clint Schaff, 2024 Participant
