“Those Who Move You”: Bentonville Highlights Local Connections on City Hall Selfie Day

BENTONVILLE, AR — This year, the City of Bentonville is encouraging residents, businesses, and organizations to participate in City Hall Selfie Day on Tuesday, August 12, by sharing photos with the people who move them. That could be coworkers, friends, family, or others who make this city feel like home.

City Hall Selfie Day is a nationwide event organized by ELGL (Engaging Local Government Leaders). It is designed to spotlight the people, places, and public servants who keep local government moving. In 2023, Bentonville received national recognition for Best Community Engagement, and this year, the city hopes to build on that success with a locally inspired theme:

Those Who Move You

Participants are encouraged to take a photo with the people they work with, build alongside, or share a meaningful connection with. That might be a business partner, a neighbor, a team, a coworker, or a longtime friend. Then, post it on August 12.

Photos can be taken in front of City Hall or at any City of Bentonville location, including parks, trailheads, city signs, public art, or other recognizable city properties.

To Participate:

  • Take a photo with “those who move you” at a City of Bentonville location

  • Post it on Tuesday, August 12

  • Use the hashtag #CityHallSelfie and tag @bentonvillegov

  • (Optional) Include a sentence or two about the people in the photo and what connects you

This year’s theme is all about relationships. It’s a chance to highlight the partnerships, teams, and personal connections that shape the Bentonville story.

A photo shows who moves you. A story shows why.
