Additional Rate Information

The City of Bentonville is committed to providing residents with clear and accurate utility billing. Two common areas of interest are how certain charges appear on your bill and how rates are adjusted over time.

Franchise Fee Presentation: A 5% franchise fee that was previously included in the electric rate now appears as a separate line item. This change was made to improve transparency and help residents better understand how utility costs are allocated.

Service Provider Rate Changes:

Trash & Recycling: In October 2024, Republic Services increased its rates by 5.19%, based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI), as specified in the city’s service contract.

Water: In October 2024, Beaver Water District increased its wholesale water rate by $0.13 per 1,000 gallons. This change is passed directly through to customer bills.

These billing practices reflect how the City partners with regional providers while ensuring that charges are presented clearly and accurately. Our goal is to make utility information easy to understand and consistent with how services are delivered.
