All officers of the Bentonville Police Department began their careers in the Patrol Division.  Many officers within this division also have collateral duties serving in specialized units.  In most cases, after approximately three years of certified law enforcement experience, officers can apply for special assignments which oftentimes require numerous hours of specialized training.
